Priest uses name of Sudha Murthy to implicate US-based cousin in cheating case arrested by Jayanagar police

The Jayanagar police on Monday arrested a 35-year-old priest from Malleshwaram who tried to implicate his US Based cousin in the name of Sudha Murthy.

The accused Arun Kumar had posing as PA of Sudha Murthy spoke to Kannada Koota in California in USA confirming Sudhamurthy‘s presence as chief guest and taken 5 lakh from the association in the name of his cousin.

However the cheating came to light when the office of Sudha Murthy called up the association to denied that she had accepting the invitation and confirmed her presence as chief guest of the program .

Taking serious objection to this the PA of Sudha Murthy filed cheating complaint with the Jurisdictional Jayanagar police.

Based on the complaint,the police took up the investigation and track down Arun Kumar and recovered the money he had taken from the association posing as PA of Sudha Murthy .

The accused confessed that he had used the name and ID of his cousin in US to teach him a lesson and implicate him in a case.

The accused told the police that his cousin and him were very close and after he shifted to US,he started ignoring Arun Kumar.

In a fit of rage,he hatched a plan to implicate him and now regret,a senior officer,said.

Based on his confession,the Jayanagar police booked him under Various sections of IT Act and also under impersonation and cheating case.
