Servant held for stealing valuables worth Rs.2.5 Crore from his owner house and recovered Rs.1.5 Crore

The Pulakeshinagar police have cracked the theft case reported in the apartment and recovered valuables worth Rs.1.5 crore from the house of one of the suspect,who had ended life during the course of investigations.

The deceased Jeevan Vergese,43,used to work as driver at the house of a woman who worked as VP at an MNC and living in an apartment in Pulakeshinagar.

Jeevan along with other domestic helps has been accused of stealing valuables worth Rs.2.5 crores on August 17 and the police had questioned Jeevan along with others in this connection .

While the police began to strongly suspect Jeevan’s role in the theft,he ended his life by hanging at the terrace of the apartment on August 21.

The police recovered a seven page note written in Malayalam from his pocket where he had alleged employer and his wife for his extreme step and even accused police for harassing him.

The police registered a case of abetment to suicide against the employer and continued the theft case investigation .

A team of police on suspicion sent to Jeevan;s house in Kerala to keep a watch on his wife and other family members .

After several days of efforts the police managed to recover not only 12 stolen items but a total of 38 items including gold jewels and other expensive articles along with foreign currencies .

The police found the finger print marks on the stolen jewel box,which was recovered from his house in Kerala.

The Police have now issued a notice to the wife of Jeevan for questioning in both the cases of theft and abetment to suicide where she is a suspect,Dr. Bheemashankar S Guled,DCP, East division,said .
