Inspector attached with Halasurgate police has registered a case with the central cyber crime police that cyber frauds have created a fake FB account in his name to sell second hand furniture to the people in his contact list.

Based on the complaint filed by Hanumanth K Bhajantri, the police have registered a case against unknown person charging him under data theft of IT act on Friday.

Mr.Bhajantri in his complaint said that he has an active FB account in his name with 4,800 followers. He got to know recently that someone has created a FB account in his name and started sending messages to all his contacts offering to sell second hand furniture.

Some of his contacts who received the message called him for clarification.Police suspect that this could be another form of luring gullible people in the name of officer and cheat them.
