A 60- year- old woman pedestrian was killed after a BBMP (Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike) Garbage Truck knocked her down near the Police Corner Junction on Nrupathunga road on Monday afternoon.
The deceased is identified as Muniyamma Narayanappa a resident of Kodigehalli was crossing the Road when a garbage truck in a rash and negligent manner knocked her down and ran over her legs.
Traffic Constable Yogesh C.S who was on duty rushed to her help and shifted to St.Martha’s Hospital,where she succumbed later.
The Halasuru gate traffic police arrested the driver , Shivakumar MS,30,charging him under death due to negligence for further investigations.
The police have subjected the driver for medical examination to ascertain whether he was intoxicated.
