Tamil Nadu Law and Order Under Scrutiny After Senior IPS Officer Alleges Assassination Plot.

Chennai:Tamil Nadu;A shocking allegation of an assassination plot by a senior police officer has cast a dark shadow over the state of law and order in Tamil Nadu.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kalpana Nayak has formally accused unnamed individuals of orchestrating a plot to eliminate her after she exposed significant irregularities in police recruitment practices.

In a complaint filed with Tamil Nadu Director General of Police (DGP) Shankar Jiwal,ADGP Nayak details a disturbing sequence of events.

Just days after she flagged discrepancies within the Tamil Nadu Uniformed Services Recruitment Board (TNUSRB) concerning the implementation of communal reservation policies in the recruitment of sub-inspectors, constables, prison warders, and firemen, her office in Chennai was gutted by a fire on July 29, 2024.

ADGP Nayak believes the fire was not an accident but a deliberate act of sabotage and part of a larger conspiracy to silence her.

The timing of the fire, so close to her whistleblowing on alleged recruitment irregularities, has fueled ADGP Nayak’s suspicions.

She has called for a thorough and impartial investigation into the fire and the alleged plot against her life, expressing concerns about potential bias within the system.

This incident has raised serious questions about transparency and accountability within the Tamil Nadu police force and the state’s broader law and order situation.

The allegations of corruption in recruitment, coupled with the suspected attempt on the life of a senior officer, present a deeply troubling picture.

The state government is now facing mounting pressure to ensure a fair and transparent investigation and to address the underlying issues that may have contributed to this alarming situation.

The outcome of this investigation will be crucial in restoring public trust and confidence in the integrity of the state’s law enforcement agencies.
