Coast Guard Karnataka celebrates 9th International Day of Yoga by organizing a mass Yoga session for around 500 participants, from local public,Central and State organization from CISF, NMPA, MCF, Fisheries, Customs,SEZ,MESCOM and MRPL.
Speaking on the occasion,DIG,Praveen Kumar Mishra said,Yoga is a Journey of Self to Self through Self. It unifies the internal and the external world.
It takes the body from an unrest state to a state of calmness and spiritual well being. He further said,Yoga and Coast Guard have similarity. We have a motto”We Protect”and Yoga protects our body.
Yoga is an invaluable gift from ancient Indian tradition to the world which ensures balance between emotion, intellect and inner peace.It is also a fantastic core strength building exercise.
A rejuvenating Yoga session was conducted by Kishore Suvarna,a Yoga Consultant.The grilling Yoga session was followed by an enriching refreshment mainly made up of millets like Ragi,Jowar and Bajra which was relished by all to commemorate Year of Millets.
Like Yoga,millet has many good benefits for the body and is one of the oldest domesticated cereals which can be dated back to Neolithic period.
