Gang of four held inter-state bike theft racked busted Recovered 72 bikes worth Rs.1.2 Crores

he Bommanahalli police busted an inter state bike theft racket and arrested a gang of four,recovered 72 two-wheelers worth Rs.1.2 crore from them .

CK Baba,DCP,Southeast said that the modus operandi of the accused is to come from the Neighbouring Tamil Nadu by bus,recce residential areas to identify bikes parked outside the houses and steal them.

The accused then would rode back to their native and sell it to their contacts in rural areas without documents .

Based on a series of bike thefts,a team of police stepped up the vigil and zeroed in on the accused while they were riding stolen bikes.

Police Sub Inspector,Naveen MK and team chased the accused and pinned them down at the border area of the city.

Based on the information,the police recovered the 72 bikes from the various parts of Tamil Nadu which they had sold it to their contacts .

The police have been asked to step up patrolling in the border areas and put up check posts to keep a tab on suspicious activities,CK Baba,said .
