Cow Vigilant Puneeth Kerehalli among four others arrested in Rajasthan by Sathanur police

amanagar police arrested cow vigilante Puneeth Kerehalli and four of his associates in Rajasthan,where they were on the run after allegedly killing Idrees Pasha during an alleged cow rescue operation on April 1.

The special Police team arrested Puneeth Kerehalli in Rajasthan on April 5.

The other accused have been identified as Gopi,Pawan Kumar and Pulling Ambigar.The accused are part of the Puneeth’s ‘Rashtra Rakshana Pade’,a right wing organization which campaigned against cow slaughter, Halaal meat,ban on muslim traders at temples .

The accused were on the run after the the murder of 39-year-old Idrees Pasha,a truck driver from Mandya intercepted by Puneeth and his team on March 31.

The accused soon switched off their mobile and escaped to Hubli,Belgaum before reaching Gujarat via Maharastra.Though they were on the move most of the time while Puneet was keep updating video posts on his social media account.

This has helped the special police team to track down and alerted Rajasthan countrerparts based on the inputs from tower dumps.

The accused were track down by Banswara police,after Gujarat and Rajasthan police based on Ramanagar police inputs stepped up security at the entry and exit points .

A team has gone to Banswara to secure their custody and bring them to the Sathanur police station after obtaining due permission from the court of Rajasthan, Mr.Reddy,said .

The accused have more than 10 cases pending against him which will also be probed.Reacting to a question, Mr.Reddy said that Heroism and Vigilantism of any sort will not be tolerated and strict action will be initiated.

He requested the general public to inform the police if they come across such type of moral policing.Family members of Idrees demanded justice from the government and strict action against the accused .

There is a police and government to take action if there is any illegality,who are they to take law into their hands.How can they beat and torture people in the name of cow smuggling.

Idrees was just a driver and transporting cattle with the sale receipts issued at the fair in Maddur,the family rued.

The murder had led to criticism of the BJP government in Karnataka even as the ruling party prepares for the Assembly elections on May 10.

Police registered two FIRs against Puneeth Kerehalli, including for murder,assault and wrongful restraint.
