Two conmen posing as policemen robbed employees of Raichur based businessman and made away with valuables worth Rs.1.2 Crore

Posing as policemen two conmen robbed 2.2 kilos of gold valuables and Rs.19,000 cash from employees of Raichur based businessman at Anand Rao circle in Majestic where the duo was waiting for the bus to return on Saturday.

The duo identified as Abdul Razaq and Mallaiah had come to city from Raichur to buy gold bars .

The duo stayed in a lodge in Gandhinagar for a day before getting their order ready.After getting the valuables the duo went to Anand Rao circle and was waiting for the bus to board when two men posing as policemen confronted them.

The duo accused the duo of illegal activities and took them in an auto on the pretext of inquiry along with the bags containing the valuables in an autorickshaw .

After moving for few yards,the accused told them to get down and walked to the DC office before fleeing away with the bag containing the valuables total worth Rs.1.12 crore .

Shocked by this the duo informed their employer and based on his advise approached the station and filed a complaint.

The Upparpet police have registered a case of robbery and verifying the CCTV footage from in and around to identify the accused.

The police suspect that some one known to the employees are involved and investigating.

Lakshman Nimbargi,DCP, West Division,said that a special team has been formed to track down the accused.
