Waste picker bludgeoned to death three others injured with clubs over trivial row accused arrested by Upparpet Police

A 35-year-old waste picker was bludgeoned to death while three others injured when a 23-year-old hotel employee attacked them with a club over a trivial row on the footpath of Kapali byline in Majestic in the early hours of Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Sandeep,whille the injured Shankar,Ravi and Kencha sustained severe head injuries and being treated at Victoria hospital.

Senior officer told reporters told the victims are empty bottle collectors and also working as cleaners at a hotel and sleeping at the footpath.

On Thursday night while they were sleeping the accused Mohammed Tahsin,from Purnia district of Bihar working as cleaner at one of the hotel near-by came to the spot where they were sleeping and to relieve himself.

The victims objected and heated arguments ensued ,following which the accused left the place.

He returned at around 4 am armed with a club and attacked the victims who were sleeping.The incident came to light when,owner of a hotel,Shafeeq Ahmed came to open the hotel and found them in a pool of blood.

He alerted the police and called the ambulance to shift them to the hospital .

By the time the victims reached the doctor declared Sandeep as brought dead.

The Upparpet police based on the information verified the CCTV footage and arrested the accused within few hours of the crime.

The accused has been booked under murder and attempt to murder and are investigating,further he added.
