Teacher committed suicide by jumping before train due to depression over financial problems

A 55-year-old high school teacher from Raichur district who had come to participate in the protest organised by teachers association,ended his life due to depression over financial problems in city railway police station limits on Wednesday night .

The deceased has been identified as Shankarappa N Boreddy,a high school teacher had come along with three of his colleagues to take part in the protest demanding revival of pension scheme at freedom park three days ago.

While his three colleagues returned in bus on Wednesday night Shankarappa stayed back stating that he will take train.

We suspect that on Wednesday night he walked on the railway track towards Malleshwaram and suspect to have jumped before the train.

The incident came to light on thursday morning when passers-by noticed the body and alerted the police. The Railway police rushed to the spot and identified the body and alerted the family members.

Girjamma,wife of the deceased in her complaint said that the Shankarappa was depressed as a woman from Bengaluru identified as Nandini had cheated him by availing a personal loan of Rs.28 lakh through him and did not return.

Though Shankarappa used to repay the installments, Nandini never returned the money.He was depressed over financial loss and taken the extreme step .

We also found a death note from the pocket of Shankarappa which stated that he is taken extreme step due to financial problems and also not having children even after his 16 years of marriage life .

The City railway station police have registered a case and are investigating further to question the woman who had borrowed the loan from the deceased .
