Duo inter-state bike lifters arrested by Bagepalli police recovered 10 stolen vehicles worth Rs.9 lakhs

The Bagepalli police on Monday arrested two inter-state bike lifters and recovered 10 two wheelers worth Rs.9 lakh from them.

The accused Suresh Ramappa,31 and Ashok Narasimhalu,25 from Kadiri and Hindupur taluk of Andhra Pradesh are habitual offenders involved in bike thefts in Bagepalli and parts of Andhra Pradesh.

The accused would come to city by bus move around residential areas to identify two wheelers parked outside the houses and steal them.

They would rode back to their native and sell it in the rural parts of AP for throwaway prices.

Based on a bike theft complaint from KSRTC bus stand parking lot on April last year, the police identify the accused through CCTV footage and kept a watch on the accused and arrested them while they returned to the town and moving suspiciously .

Upon Questioning the duo revealed their involvement of previous bike cases and the bikes were recovered,the police,said .
