Police have not yet arrested anyone in this incident. A search is on for the accused.According to police sources, Trinamool leader Rubel Sheikh is a resident of Dangapara area of Panchgram Panchayat. Bilbosia was chatting in a quiet area with his two colleagues. At that time, two miscreants on a bike came and stopped at a distance. Shots were fired shortly thereafter. Trinamool youth leader Rubel fell to the ground. Trinamul youth workers Ujjwal Sheikh and Saheb Sheikh who were with him, the miscreants fled before they could understand anything.Ujjal Sheikh, an eyewitness to the shooting of the Trinamool youth leader, said, “After finishing the party work, we sometimes hang out in Bilbosia area and go to each house. Just before leaving for home, a bike crosses us, followed by a gunshot sound. I see blood dripping from Rubel’s waist. Even then, I do not understand why such an incident happened.The injured Trinamool youth leader was first taken to Navagram Hospital. As his condition deteriorated, he was shifted to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital. Later, he was brought to a private hospital in Kolkata’s Salt Lake. But there was no special benefit. In the end, the Trinamool youth leader died. The doctors said that the Trinamool leader died due to excessive bleeding due to the bullet.
