Need to check digital crimes- CM Bommai

C hief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said as technology progresses the criminals use newer technology.A decade ago the cyber crime was unheard but now there is a legislation for it.Technology must be ahead of them to put the brakes on new kinds of crimes.

Speaking at a function to lay the foundation stone for the FSL University and  bhumi puja here on Saturday,he stressed on the need to check the new type crimes like cyber crime,digital crime and narcotics.

Once it was said crime leads the law but now they have to detect both legal and technology crimes for which the National FSL Laboratory will be established.

FSL regional centers given

Bommai said earlier it was taking several years to get the FSL report and during which the criminals were escaping.

When he was Home Minister two regional FSL were given besides upgraded the FSL Laboratory in Bengaluru at a cost of Rs.30 crore.In the entire country, the Karnataka police have got the most sophisticated laboratory.

Like in foreign countries,for the first time in the country, over 180 Special Officer on Crime Scene have been appointed in the State for the firstly.

Besides,5 FSL scientists were appointed and trained. On top of it the FSL University has come to the state mainly due to Shah’s love for Karnataka.

Even Union Minister Joshi also strove in this regard. Though the varsity is in Karnataka,its services will be available to all the states.Shah has helped in the creation of jobs for the people of North Karnataka.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah,Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi,Vice-chancellor,G.M.Vyas,MLAs Arvind Bellad and Amrit Desai were present.
