Abhijit Ray, KolkataThe bandmaster of a bar music troop is arrested for trying to rape and threatening a bar singer at Kolkata. It is reported that the police of Kasba PS have arrested the accused on the basis of a complaint in a bar incident in Beniyapukur area. It is known that Ranveer is a resident of Punjab. He will be produced in court on Wednesday. The complainant is appalled by this incident. The police assured the lady singer for her safety and security. The complainant, a thirty-three-year-old singer, used to sing in a bar in Beniapukur. One night in the last week of December, when she was returning home from a bar, she was allegedly assaulted by the accused named Ranveer in Laketown area. While filing a complaint with the police, the singer claimed that Ranveer offered her sex. He forced and threatened her if she refused. The singer said that Ranbir is the bandmaster of that bar. That’s why she was terrified, and she could not complain to the police because of fear.But after receiving repeated threats from Ranveer, the singer approached the police of Kasba police station on Tuesday. She has filed a written complaint against Ranveer and based on that, the police arrested Ranveer from Kasba area. He is being interrogated now. According to the police, Ranveer is not cooperating in the interrogation.It is known that Ranveer’s home is in Punjab. When he came to Kolkata, he used to rent a house on Rajdanga Main Road in Kasba. Kasba police arrested Ranveer from that house this morning. A case has been filed against him under multiple criminal charges including molestation of a woman, attempted rape, threats. On this day, the police may present Ranbir in court and ask for their custody.
