Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said it has been decided to establish a super-specialty hospital in Kumta for the benefit of people of coastal area taluks since a medical college is functioning in Karwar.
The grants required for the hospital will be released and a foundation stone will be laid for the project soon.
He disclosed this after laying the foundation stone for various developmental works in Sirsi taluk as well as the felicitation to the Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri here on Sunday.
For the first time in the State, Environment University will be established in Sirsi in Uttara Kannada district to undertake a detailed study on the environment, said Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Since forest and Horticulture colleges are located here both will be affiliated and establish Environment University to study
