21-year-old motorcycle rider was killed and his friend riding pillion severely injured when a speeding truck know them down on Mysuru Bengaluru tollgate under Chickpet traffic police station limits in the early hours of Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Devaraju, resident of Yadgir.
The injured Devendrappa sustained multiple fractures and being treated at Victoria hospital .
Senior officer told reporters,the deceased Devaraju and Devendrappa working as construction labourers living at an under construction house near PES college in Hosakerehalli,went on motorcycle to wish their friends living in Guddadahalli.
On the way,the speeding truck knock down their bike and sped away.The profusely bleeding duo was rushed to Victoria hospital where Devaraju succumbed on the way.
The Chickpet traffic police have registered a case of hit and run and efforts are on to track down the vehicle.
