Amid row over corruption, another contractor commits suicide in Karnataka

A 50-year-old class 1,contractor from Tumakuru ended his life due to financial problems incurred allegedly due to non payment of bills due to him following which he was indebted .

TN Prasad,from Saptagiri Extension was missing since yesterday evening and the incident came to light this morning when the police found his body hanging to the ceiling fan of Inspection banglow in Devarayanadurga.The police found a suicide note from the spot stating that no one is responsible for his death.

Prasad’s family members had filed a missing complaint with the police after he did not return and his mobile number was not reachable.

On Saturday morning,the police found the location and rushed to the IB after informing the family members and friends.

Rajendra,one of the friend of Prasad along with his family members rushed to the IB and found his scooter was parked but the gates were closed.

He found a key hanging at the gate and rushed in to find him hanging to the ceiling fan.

However contractor association members blamed rampant corruption and harassment at the government level which led him to take the extreme step .

Prasad friends claimed that his bills were not cleared and was running from pillar to post for the last few months to get his bill cleared his friends said that he was disturbed and even sold his house a couple of months ago to repay loans.He had also borrowed huge some of loan from his friends and money lenders .

The Kyatsandra police have taken up a case of un natural death and are investigating further investigation to ascertain the exact reason behind his extreme step.
