The Jigani police on the massive manhunt for a labourer who is on the run after raping a 16-year-old physically challenged girl in the outskirts of the city on Tuesday.
The accused Prabhakar was working as bar bender at an under construction house adjacent to the house where the victim was living with her mother and elder brother .
The victim is a physically challenged due to paralysis and stayed at home while her brother and mother goes to work in the morning and return home late in the evening.
On Tuesday when mother returned home they found the girl was missing.While they were searching for the victim the mother received a call on her mobile from unknown number to inform that her daughter was with them at Doddanagamangala circle .
The mother along with her relatives rushed to the spot and brought the victim home who narrated the ordeal .
The victim told her mother that the accused identified as Prabhakara lured by taking on a joy ride on his scooter.He took her to a room where his friend Ananda was present.
The accused Prabhakar forcibly raped her and assaulted her when she tried to resist.
While the accused were busy talking, the victim slipped out of the room on the pretext of attending nature’s call,managed to reach the mian road and sought the help of an autorickshaw which was passing-by.
With the help of the driver,she even called the mother and informed her about her whereabouts.
The police have registered a case against Prabhakar and his friend Anand, charging them under various sections of SC ST atrocities Act, POCSO and also under rape and abduction against them.
