Auto rickshaw blast in Mangaluru an act of terror, says Karnataka police chief Praveen Sood

t’s confirmed now. The blast is not accidental but an ACT OF TERROR with intention to cause serious damage. Karnataka State Police is probing deep into it along with central agencies.Mangalore blast case; Premraj is a victim of identity theft. It’s confirmed. Security checks has been heightened especially in the Northern parts of the state following a low intensity blast occurred in Mangaluru on Saturday.

Senior police officials have been directed to step up security measures at Mangalore,Chikkamagaluru, Mysuru,Hubli Dharwad,Gulbarga and other parts of the state to carry anti sabotage checks at airports, bus stands,railway stations,religious and public places and tourist spots.

The police meanwhile awaiting recovery of the suspect who is presently undergoing treatment for his 40 per cent burn injuries at an ICU.

The police have recovered ID card mentioning the name as Premkumar Hutagi.Police also established his link to Mysuru and suspected that he had taken a rented house using the Id card .

The police established links to the nieghbouring state as the suspect that taken the SIM card which he was using from there .

The police have questioned the autorikshaw driver who is also complainant in this case and given clean chit.

So far his role in the incident has been ruled out but he is under the scanner, a police officer, said .
