A new chapter has begun in Telangana medical education. A key step has been taken towards the realization of CM KCR’s will to establish a medical college in the district.

Hyderabad: A new chapter has begun in Telangana medical education. A key step has been taken towards the realization of CM KCR’s will to establish a medical college in the district. Eight government medical colleges became available in a single year. CM KCR started virtual classes in new medical colleges simultaneously through a program held at Pragati Bhavan. With this, MBBS classes have started from the medical year 2022-23 in Sangareddy, Mahabubabad, Manchiryala, Jagityala, Vanaparthi, Kothagudem, Nagarkurnool and Ramagundam medical colleges. Through these, 1,150 seats have been newly made available to the students. With this, the number of medical colleges in the state has reached 17.

This is a golden opportunity for Telangana..

CM KCR spoke on the occasion of inaugurating medical colleges. He said that this is a golden day for Telangana.. an unforgettable day. He congratulated the medical students, medical officers, district collectors and administrators of medical colleges. “In the past, we faced many problems for drinking water, irrigation water, medical seat and engineering seat. With the formation of Telangana as a self-governing state, we are now living wonderfully and with self-respect. We are moving forward by undertaking many innovative programs which are leading the country. It is a matter of pride that we have started 8 government medical colleges in this order. No one would have imagined that medical colleges would come up in remote areas like Mahabubabad and Vanaparthi. The reason for this is the formation of own state. The people who are the activists are taking the administrative leadership. The reason is that the famous activist Harish Rao managed the medical and health department. Appreciating Minister Harish’s efforts in setting up medical colleges. I would like to thank the authorities including the CS for their cooperation.

If the medical system is strong, the damage will be less

We are determined to have a medical college in every district. The number of medical colleges in the government sector has increased to 17 with the new ones started. It is to come in 17 more districts. They will also be arranged. Earlier we had only 850 seats in government medical colleges..now that number has increased to 2,790. We have been able to increase the PG seats and super specialty seats significantly. Due to lack of medical facilities, millions of people died around the world during covid. In America too, they died due to lack of medical facilities. Where the medical system is strong, the loss is minimal. There should be no fear of covid and other viruses. “We are building a medical shield for the state with medical students,” said KCR.
