Man attempts suicide on Kolkata’s Park Street Metro today- survived

Abhijit Ray, Kolkata:A person allegedly attempted suicide by jumping in front of a metro track at Park Street  Metro Station at Kolkata . Following this, metro services were partially closed from 12.00 pm to 12.50 pm.  After the person was rescued and the metro started running again.Today afternoon, the people of city of joy  Delhiites had a harrowing time as there was a delay in services on the metro because of this unewanted incident. According to Metro Rail sources, a forty-five-year-old man jumped in the metro track when a metro  entered a Metro Park Street station at around 12:06 p.m. However, he was not electrocuted as he fell between two lines. The electricity connection was stopped immediately after the accident.Metro personnel jumped in to save the man. Metro movement from Girish Park to MahanayakUttam Kumar was stopped due to this incident. Metro was running from Dakshineshwar to Girish Park on the Down line and from Kabi Subhash to Netaji on the Up line.The person was rescued from the metro line around 12.50 pm. He was admitted to the hospital for medical examination. Then from Dakshineshwar to Kabi Subhash, the metro movement is normal. Commuters face problems as the metro is partially closed for so long during peak hours. As a result, pressure increases on the road. Few days back at the time of Durga Puja , one person had also tried to commit suicide in the metro. Even on the day of Puja, the metro service started late. The crowd pressure was extremely high. Meanwhile, the service is affected due to this incident. Then the same incident got repeated again.Although both got  survived. The same incident happened on today, Tuesday too, but the life of a forty-five-year-old man was saved by the action of metro workers.
