Notorious Thief arrested for stealing gold chains posing as customer by diverting attention of Jewellery Shop owner recovered 3 gold chains worth Rs.3 lakhs

The Kamakashipalya police have arrested a 28-year-old man and recovered three gold chains worth Rs.3 lakh which he had stolen from Jewellery shops posing as customer.

The accused has been identified as Ramesh, from Hegganahalli.

Senior officer told reporters,the accused was arrested based on a complaint filed by Dinesh, owner of a Krishna jewelry shop on Magadi road on August 31.

The accused posing as customer visited the gold shop seeking to buy gold chain.While checking the design he diverted the attention of Dinesh and pocketed two gold chains weighing 45 grams worth Rs.2.2 lakh .

Based on the complaint, the police analyzed the CCTV footage to identify the accused and arrested him.

The police also recovered another gold chain from Ramesh which he had stolen from another shop in Rajagopalnagar using similar modus operandi .
