Take elected representatives suggestions; speed up 24×7 drinking water scheme, CM Bommai

The works on 24X 7 drinking water supply scheme to twin cities of Hubballi-Dharwad must be speeded up .

The company that has bagged the contract must take the suggestions of elected representatives, seek their Co-operation and construct the water storage tanks and pipeline,directed Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Speaking at the review meeting of continuous water supply scheme to the twin cities at Dennison’s Hotel here on Sunday,the CM said L&T Company which has bagged the contract to execute this project,must share the monthly progress report with the deputy commissioner.

It must work with dedication and maintain quality of the works.It must take suggestions from the local MLAs bu holding meetings as it would be helpful in the execution of the project.Both the KUIDFC and L&T Company must jointly furnish reply to court.

He said decentralisation must be brought in administration and financial management.This project was not any building construction work but the drinking water supply scheme for the citizens of Hubballi-Dharwad.

The company must accept problems as the challenges and march forward.The district administration will extend all kinds of Co-operation.

Tough action will be initiated if the implementation was not satisfactory but the company must not allow to take such stringent action.The responsibility of implementation must be taken immediately,he added.

Union Minister for Coal,Mining and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi said this is a must ambitious project and negligence must not be showed in its implementation at any cost.

Complaints are pouring in from citizens about supplying water for hardly 6-8 hours daily.Both KUIDFC and L&T Company must work in coordination and with dedication.

Ministers,Halappa Achar,Shankarl Patil Munenkoppa,former CM Jagadish Shettar,MLAs Arvind Bellad,Amrit Desai,Prasad Abbaiah, C.M.Nimbannanavar,MLC Basavaraj Horatti, S.V.Sankanur,Pradeep Shettar,Mayor Eresh Anchatageri and others were present.
