Three Storeyed building collapsed,Goods worth around Rs.50 lakhs destroyed in Mamulpet

three storeyed building collapsed and goods worth around Rs.50 lakh destroyed in Mamulpet due to heavy rains in the early hours of Saturday.

The two Upper portions of the building meant for the residential purpose were vacant for the past many years while the ground floor was rented to three shops,where around 20 people were working.

Luckily no one injured as the incident occurred in the wee hours and no one was around.

One of the owner of the shop complained that he had informed the owners to repair the uppar portion of the vacant building as the ceiling used to leak heavily whenever there is rain.

The shop keepers had even sent notices to the owners in this regard but in vain.

The incident took place at around 3 am when residents heard the heavy creaking sound and rushed out to notice the building is crumbling down.

The patrolling police along with the fire and emergency service personnel rushed to the spot to cordoned the area and later removed the debris with the help of JCBs.

There was little damaged to the adjacent building as the old building went down straight and not fell on the adjacent building,a police officer,said.

The BBMP officials,with MLA,Dinesh Gundu Rao,Uday Gardudachar with ex corporator Shivkumar also visited the spot to take stock of the situation.

It many be recalled that the BBMP in the earlier building collapse incident,assured to conduct audit for the old buildings and give necessary directions,but nothing has been done so far,
a police officer,added.
