CM instructs for precautionary measures against Monkeypox

C hief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has instructed the officials to take all necessary precautions against the spread of Monkeypox in the state.

The Chief Minister chaired a meeting to discuss the spread of Monkeypox today.

The Chief Minister issued the following instructions at the meeting.

* Six Monkeypox cases have been reported in the country.Take appropriate measures for screening of passengers at the airports.

* Take precautionary measures which include sending the infected persons to 21 days of quarantine in accordance with the central guidelines.

* Identify the private institutions where the infected persons could be treated.

* Provide appropriate training for medical and paramedical staff.

* Launch massive public awareness campaigns about Monkeypox.

The officials informed the Chief Minister that of the 3 persons from the state who were tested, the report of two persons has been negative.

The report of the person who travelled from Belgium is yet to come.The ED hospital in Bengaluru and Wenlock hospital in Mangaluru have been identified for quarantining.

Health minister K Sudhakar,Chief Secretary Vandita Sharma and other senior officials were present.
