Special drive launched to curb bike stunts and wheelie by minors near schools and colleges – BTP

The traffic police launched special drive against bike stunts and directed the police to keep a tab on the minors using bikes .

The police have already booked as many as 14
cases against bikers performing stunts and wheeling in and around the city .

Majority of them are minors and their parents have been summoned to the station counselled and taken a bond from them worth Rs.5 lakh to Rs.10 lakh,a senior police officer, said.

All the schools and colleges are under the radar and the traffic police deployed close-by have been instructed to keep a tab on the students using the bikes.

Even II PU students are not eligible for the Driving license and hence using the scooter amounts to violations and action will be taken against them, warned,Joint Commissioner of Police,Traffic,Dr BR Ravikanthe Gowda told reporters.

Apart from this the traffic police also launched special drive against drunk and drive and fake number plates offences which are on the rise.

As many as 22 persons were involved in fatal accidents related to drunk and drive cases since June to first week of July,The special drive is to enforce traffic discipline,Mr.Gowda ,said.
