Group of Jewellers staged protest in front of Tilaknagar police station over police investigation in Bengaluru

group of jewellers from Bommanahalli on Sunday gathered in front of Tilak Nagar police station against the detention of shop employee by police in connection with a case related to purchase of stolen property .

Police Inspector Shankaracharya who led the investigations went to Parmeshwar Jeweller in Bommanahalli to question the owner as part of the investigations.

However they had a heated argument with the staff and detained one of them for questioning and brought to the station.

The news spread about the detention and the jewellers gathered in front of the station alleging police harassment and demanding the release .

The police later recorded the statement of Kesaram and released him after serving a notice to appear before the Investigating officer,in the next date .

The police said that the owner of the shop Babulal has earlier been arrested for purchasing a gold chain which has been robbed .

The police are also on the lookout for Babulal’s son Ravi who has also been accused under the receiver of stolen property case and missing .

However when the police went to the shop looking out for Ravi when Kesaram,confronted and argued with the police,prompting them to detain him.

Its a pressure tactics from the jewellers on the police to derail the investigations.Its a sheer interference of the ongoing investigations,which has been brought to the notice of the higher authorities,a police officer,said.

The police team followed all due diligence during the visit,and the allegation made by the protestors are false said a officer.
