he North Division police of Rajajinagar police have arrested a 22-year-old supervisor with a online marketing company and recovered eight bikes worth Rs.11.6 lakh which he had stolen from in and around the city .
The accused has been identified as,Sagar,native of Chikkaballapura and resident of Kodigehalli.
Senior officer told reporters,a complaint was registered by a scooterist on March 15th stating he parked his bike near a bakery and went to relatives house and when he returned after sometime he was shocked to notice that his bike is missing after searching for hours and inquiring in and around when he got confirmed that his bike has been theft.
Immediately he rushed to Rajajinagar police station and met Inspector RP Ashok,and explained him about he lost his bike.
After taking all information Ashok RP inspector formed a special team and swung into action and analyzed few CCTV footage from in and around the area to trace him down.
During analysing the footage in one of the footage the team got the identity of the suspect and after getting identity of the accused the crime with their reliable inputs zeroed in on accused with the help of local intelligence and technical inputs.
During investigation the accused confessed the crime and a detailed Probe revealed that the accused Sagar is a habitual offender arrested by Shiddlagattha police in a bike theft case in 2020.
After coming out on bail,the accused joined a leading online firm in city as supervisior and rented a house in Kodigehalli.
He continued with the habit of stealing bikes parked in front of the houses and use them for joy rides.
After using the bikes for few days,he would park them in isolated place and steal the next one,the team grilled him and based on his Statement recovered 8 Stolen bikes worth Rs.11.6 lakhs from him.
Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,C H Pratap Reddy has appreciated Addl CP West, Sandeep Patil,DCP North,Vinayak Patil,ACP,KS Venkatesh Naidu,PI RP Ashok,PSI,Pradeep Kumar C,Shivamurthy,ASI,Jagadeesh,and Crime staff as,NG Girish,Chandrashekhar,Melgiri, Goutham R,Beerappa Ningadali,Vital Nayak,Shivaram and others has been appreciated for the excellent investigation done by them in nabbing the notorious habitual offender a reputed firm supervisor turned bike lifter and a suitable reward will be given to whole team he added.
