Parents allege medical negligence after one-year-old child dies after NIMHANS doctors deny treatment

ension prevailed at NIMHANS hospital premises for sometimes when relatives and family of the 18-month-old baby boy with head injuries was rushed from Gonibidu in Sakeleshpura to Bengaluru through zero traffic from Hassan government hospital within 1 hour 40 minutes,succumbed due to delayed treatment on Wednesday.

The boy has slipped from the stairs and sustained head injuries.He was rushed to a local hospital where the doctors referred him to NIMHANS.

Based on the parents request the police cooperate and arranged zero traffic facilities to shift the boy to the hospital at the earliest .

Even though the boy was brought to the hospital in record time,he was not admitted even after one hour despite informing the hospital well in advance.

Due to the delay the boy succumbed in the ambulance while waiting to get the bed.

The parents staged a protest against the doctors negligence led to the death.The jurisdictional Siddapura police reached the spot to pacify the protestors .

The hospital submitted a MLC report to the police which will be transferred to Gonibidu police for further investigations.

Meanwhile NIMHANS Medical superintendent issued a Statement and said all the allegations made are baseless our doctors tried their best to save the child and were given ECG and other required treatment once arrived but the child dint respond to the treatment.
