The Chikkajala police have detained a BWSSB contractor,who claiming to be a relative of Belagavi police commissioner and acquaintance of DK Shivakumar and Kunigal MLA Ranganath, cheated a city based civil contractor with Rs. 1.53 crore,promising jobs for his children in police department and BWSSB.
The conman identified as Prakash,was introduced to TP Muniraju,through his common friends in November last year .
The accused claimed that Belagavi Commissioner MB Boralingaiah is his uncle and he is very close to DK Shivakumar,Kunigal,MLA Ranganath,who can do anything for him.
Impressed with his contacts,Muniraju sought help to get a government job for his son Pashupati and his daughter Priyanka in police department and BWSSB respectively.
Muniraju also paid Rs.63 lakh to the accused in different dates and also an additional amount of total Rs.1.53 crore to get a job for his six relatives in different government department. The accused took the money promised to get the job done and sought some time .
After much persuasion the accused issued fake appointment letters and Id cards.The accused is now not reachable and after repeated attempt to track him,Muniraju approached the police.The police have detained Prakash and Narayanaswamy for further investigations.
