Four including Owner of a slaughter house arrested for attacking Gou Gyan Foundation members

The Channapatna East Division police have arrested four persons including owner of a slaughter house for attacking members of Gou Gyan Foundation who who went to inspect illegal slaughter house at Beedi colony on Sunday morning.

In his complaint Mr.Kulkarni said that the accused was running illegal slaughter house in Beedi colony backside water supply board where over 30 cattle were locked up in shed and many of them are slaughters and meat was transported in autorickshaw to different locations.

The volunteers when reached the spot and while video recording,the accused attacked them and beat them up before the police could reach the spot.

Senior officer said,A group of Gou Gyan Foundation volunteers led by Sanjay Kulkarni based on the information went to illegal slaughter house in Beedi colony and video recording on Sunday morning, when the accused attacked them.

The police reached on the spot on time and contained the situation and arrested four persons while two including owner of another slaughter house is absconding,Efforts are on to track them down,Santosh Babu K,said.

The accused have been charged under various sections of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act , (slaughter house ) Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act and also under section 428 and section 429 ( killing, poisoning, maiming or rendering useless any animals ) of the IPC.

The accused were later identified based on the video evidence and were arrested and investigations are on.
