Security checks vigil at Central Prison, Convicted accused caught Smuggling Mobile phone in Prison

Security checks at the Central Prison of Parappana Agrahara stepped up ever since the reports on Bajrangdal activist Harsha murder case accused video of them talking over mobile phones and making video calls,went viral.

Chief Superintendent of Prison stepped up security measures and even filed case against the accused for using mobile phone during the Eid to talk with their families and friends .

On Tuesday in the early hours,Karnataka State Industrial Security Force,staff who are deployed at the prison caught a convict trying to get into the prison with a mobile phone and memory card concealed in his pant.

The accused Kamanna K was being escorted by Ponnanpete police to Central prison when constable,Praveen HG,of KSISF,recovered a mobile phone and a memory chip from the pant he was wearing while frisking him before letting him inside the prison .

The accused along with the seized items has been handed over to Chief Superintendent of Prison PR Ramesh,who filed a case with the jurisdictional police .

Earlier on Sunday,the Electronic city division police along with the prison staff conducted a joint operations and searched the barracks and inmates of all the barracks including high security section.

As many as nine inmates including convicts and under trails were caught having a total of Rs. 97,270 along with four knives,five scissors,a SIM card and a memory card from them.

The accused have been booked under various sections of Karnataka Prison Act and further investigations are on to ascertain the source of banned items inside the prison.
