Hijab Verdict: Prohibitory orders in Bengaluru till March 21,Ban on gatherings around schools, colleges extended

Prohibitory orders has been clamped in the city for the next one week and the city police sounded high alert in the wake of High court judgement on hijab issue on Tuesday.

City police commissioner,Kamal Pant,held a emergency meeting with the senior police officers to discuss the security measures to be taken.

Schools,colleges,educational institutes and other sensitive areas have been provided with police security and patrolling intensified to ensure law and order.

The High court complex has also been provided with tight security cover.

The jurisdictional DCPs have been given charge to supervise the security measures and step up patrolling from morning .

As many as 40 platoons of reserve Battalions have been pressed into service and the Hoysala and local police have been directed to step up patrolling.

The command centre and officer of the rank of DCP has been deployed to keep a tab on the social media and monitor .

Various types of reactions after pronouncement of the judgment,including gathering,celebrations, protests after the judgement,cannot be ruled out.

Hence, in order to maintain public peace and order in Bengaluru City.It is considered appropriate to issue prohibitory order for one week to ban gathering,agitations,protests, celebrations of any type in any public place in Bengaluru City, Mr.Pant,said.
