Cloth Merchant turned Drug Peddler arrested by Kengeri police,seized 5 gms MDMA Drugs

The Kengeri police on Saturday arrested a 22-year-old cloth merchant and recovered 5 grams of MDMA from him.

The accused has been identified as,Faizan Ahmed Shariff,resident of Bapujinagar.

Senior officer told reporters, Kengeri police inspector,Vasanth C, received a tip off that a person is waiting in SUV to deliver some consignment which is fully wrapped and is looking suspiciously.

Based on tip off inspector and his team swung into action and rushed to spot and surrounded the area and kept a close watch on him the team after getting confirmation approached him and while questioning him for whom he is waiting the team was not satisfied with his statement and on suspect basis intercepted the car and found MDMA Drugs in his possession.

During investigation the accused confessed the crime as he was caught red handed while waiting to deliver the consignment to his clients.

Further investigation revealed that he was into cloth business with his father and we suspect that he is doing peddling drugs as side business .

Faizan told the police that he is not a peddler and sourced the drugs from his friend for consumption.

However the police are suspecting that he along with his friend is peddling drugs for many months.

He was using his father’s SUV for the delivery of the drugs to avoid attention of the police.The police booked Faizan under NDPS Act and took him into custody while efforts are on to track down his associate to bust the racket.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,ACP, Kodandarama,PI Vasanth C,and other crime staff who has successfully nabbed the peddler and a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
