Cab driver arrested for misbehaving with women passenger in Jeevanbheemanagar

The Jeevanbheemanagar police on Thursday arrested a 32 year old cab driver for allegedly misbehaving with a woman passenger during the wee hours of Wednesday night.

The accused was arrested within the few hours of the complaint filed by the victim.

The accused has been identified as KN Manjunath,a resident of Kakolu near Rajankunte and is a cab driver with a cab aggregator Ola.

The complainant told the police that she along with her friends had booked the cab to reach their house after attending a party.

The woman who had reportedly consumed liquor sought the driver’s help to get down from the cab when the driver is alleged to have made use of her situation and touched her inappropriately .

The woman objected to his behaviour,called the police control room and raised the issue when the night beat police rushed to the spot but the driver had escaped by then.

Based on the driver’s booking details,managed to secure the accused driver within a few hours.He was booked under outraging the modesty and remanded to judicial custody said a senior officer.
