Gang of three Notorious thieves arrested by Nandini layout police recovered stolen property Worth Rs.55 Lakhs

The North Division police of Nandini Layout police on Tuesday arrested a group of three habitual offenders and recovered gold and silver valuables worth Rs 55 lakh from them.

The accused identified as,Srinivasa,Satish and Tejesvi are habitual offenders arrested in similar offences earlier and were remanded to central prison of Parappana Agarahara .

Senior officer told media persons,while investigating a house break theft reported in Jai Maruthinagar on Feb 15, the Nandini layout police inspector and team visited the crime spot after inspecting the area special team were formed to nab the culprits.

A special team was formed by ACP,KS Venkatesh Naidu under the supervision of Nandini Layout Inspector,Venkategowda and his crime staff swung into action and the team analyzed hundreds of CCTV footages and identified the identity of the accused and arrested them.

During investigation the trio confessed to the crime and based on their statement the team seized valuables includes 1.12 Kgs of gold valuables and 1.9 kgs of silver articles worth of Rs.55 lakhs from them.

A detailed investigation by the team it has revealed that While in the jail the trio ganged up and after coming out on bail started breaking into houses again.

The accused would move around the areas to identify locked houses and break into them using duplicates keys.

In some houses the accused used crow bars to gain entry and would steal only gold valuables and silver articles and cash which is easy to carry.

One of the accused would handover the stolen articles to his mother to pawn them at gold loan companies and a part of the money they would give to temple as donation and spend the rest of the money on trips and vices to lead a lavish life.

So far the trio were involved in 14 house break thefts for the past one year in and around the city.

Kudos to the @nandinilayoutps team for apprehending a gang of 3 notorious thieves involved in a house break-in & theft (HBT) in Jai Maruthi Nagar. The accused were wanted in several cases of theft. 1.12 Kg of gold ornaments and 1.96 Kg of silver articles worth ₹55.18 lakh have been seized from the accused. Further investigation is underway.A reward of ₹40K has been announced to the team.Kamal Pant, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner,said in his tweet.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP West,Sandeep Patil,DCP,North,Vinayak Patil,ACP,KS Venkatesh Naidu,PI,Venkategowda,PSIs,as,Nithyanandachar,Naveed and crime staff as,Manjunath,Jaishankar, Rangaswamy, Santhosh Kumar,Manjunath, Srinivas,Smt.Gayathri,Subhash,Abhishek, Basavanna,Umesh,Prasad and others were appreciated for the commendable and exemplary work done by them in nabbing the notorious thieves and seizing the stolen booty from them, A reward of Rs.40,000, has been announced to the team he added.
