Bommanahalli police booked case against 8, rescued 30 labourers from West Bengal

The Bommanahalli police rescued a group of 30 labourers from west Bengal who have been illegally confined and tortured by gang of eight for the past few days .

The accused who knew few labourers called them from South 24 Paragana,West Bengal, offering jobs in garment factory with decent salary with food and accomodation.

The victim came to the city 25 days ago and housed five to six persons in each rooms on Begur main road last month and sent them to work at a garment factory as tailors.

The victims asked the accused for some money but they started giving them evasive response and even deployed security in front of their rooms to threaten and beat them after they return from work .

Unable to beat the harassment few victims protested following which they were beaten and thrown out of the rooms on Monday night .

Few residents noticed the comotion and alerted control room.The Hoysala patrolling vehicle rushed to the spot and rescued the victims while efforts are on to track down the accused who are on the run.

The police suspect that the accused are middlemen having some king of ties with the factories and firms to supply labourers .

Based on the complaint by one of the victim identified as Sheikh Saniyaj, 19, the Bommanahalli police registered an FIR charging the accused under unlawful assembly,wrongful confinement,assault and criminal intimidation against them and further investigation is on.
