A 49-year-old journalist was killed when a truck lost control while negotiating a curve and capsized on the bike he was riding in front of town hall on Sunday.
The deceased Gangadhar Murthy, working as sub editor with leading kannada daily was heading to office for work .
The truck belonging to a private logistic company heading towards the city market from JC road , capsized on the biker after the wheels touched the divider while the driver was negotiating a curve.
Soon the driver escaped,while passers by rushed to help and pulled him out.He was rushed to the victoria hospital where the doctor declared him as brought dead .
The Halasuru gate traffic police rushed to the spot and called the crane to pull the truck to clear the road.
Traffic movement was affected for sometime till the police cleared the road. The police have registered a case of rash and negligence and death due to negligence against the driver and efforts are on to track him down said a senior officer.
CM condoles death of senior journalist Gangadhar Murthy :
Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has expressed his grief at the death of Gangadhar Murthy, senior journalist of Vijayavani Kannada daily in a road accident.
Murthy met with an accident on his way to office on Sunday afternoon.This is shocking.May God bestow peace on Gangadhar Murthy’s soul and give the strength to his family members to bear this loss,the Chief Minister has said in his condolence message.
