Three armed men robbed a jeweller and his uncle and made away with cash RS 2 lakh from him in Kamakshipalya on Wednesday.
Senior officer told reporters,The victim, Pramod Jain and his uncle Nemichand were returning home in two vehicles when the incident occurred.
While Pramod was driving a van keeping a cash bag at the back seat,his uncle Nemichand was following him in the scooter.
While the duo reached Sunkadakatte 7th cross at around 9.30 pm, the accused who were following them in two bikes confronted the van and started arguing with Pramod .
Initially Pramod thought it was out of road rage but one of the accused pulled out a machete and smashed the backside window to pull out the cash bag.
Meanwhile Nemichand reached the spot and tried to resist but the accused robbed him of a 10 gram gram chain after threatening him with the weapon.
Based on the complaint the kamakshipalya police stepped up vigil and verifying CCTV footage to identify the accused he added.
