Bengaluru: ACB trapped& arrested Chikkajala police inspector,Raghavendra & middle man red handed accepting bribe of Rs.2 Lakhs

Officials of the Anti-Corruption Bureau on Saturday trapped and arrested an Inspector attached to Chikkajala police station while accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh from a person for an official favour .

Senior ACB officials,told reporters that we received a complaint against chikkajala inspector Raghavendra in which the complainant stated that the inspector demanding bribe of 2 lakhs in which he stated that he has already paid 8 lakhs rupees to him and now again demanding Rs.2 lakhs to do the work.

Based on the complaint a trap was laid by ACB officials and we asked the complainant to approach the inspector and to agree to pay the Rs.2 lakhs the inspector asked the complainant to handover money to his hench men as middle man Raghavendra.

Our team who were waiting outside suddenly entered the chikkajala police station and while receiving bribe our team trapped Chikkajala police inspector, Raghavendra and his middle man Raghavendra red handed accepting bribe of Rs.2 Lakhs.

During investigation revealed that the accused officer had demanded Rs 10 lakh from a landlord to register a complaint he filed under someone trespassing into his property and trying to encroach the land.

Raghavendra had taken Rs 8 lakh earlier as advance to register a complaint and initiate investigation.

Later he demanded for the remaining RS.2 lakh to be paid to him.Unable to pay, the complainant approached ACB and filed a complaint.Based on the complaint the ACB officials on Saturday laid a trap and caught inspector Raghavendra and his middle man Raghavendra red handed while accepting the money at the station.

The ACB officials charged Inspector Raghavendra under Prevention of Corruption Act,they also arrested a middleman who was facilitating the deal and both the accused will be produced before the court and further investigation is on.
