Inter-state drug racket busted,duo held including hotel management graduate 101 kg Marijuana worth Rs.40 lakhs seized

The Devanahalli police busted an interstate drug racket and arrested a 25-year-old hotel management graduate and his associate,red handed selling Marijuana to local peddlers on Tuesday.

Based on their information the police raided his house in Nayandahalli and recovered 101 kgs of Marijuana worth Rs 40 lakh.

The accused have been identified as Sachin (25), a resident of Nayandahalli,and Anand (23), a resident of Hebbagodi and an auto driver by profession.

Senior officer told media persons,The racket came to light when a team of police based on  specific information about that some persons visit Devanahalli and sell marijuana to students who visit Nandi Hills.

Following information,a team led by police sub-inspector,Shivappa M Naikar kept a close watch near Rani Cross.

Few hours later,Sachin and Anand reached the spot on a bike and noticed the police party they  tried to escape.

Shivappa and team gave a hot chase and finally caught them.The police searched the suspects to find five kgs of ganja from him.

Subsequently the police raided his house and recovered the remaining 96 kgs of drugs which he had stored in his house.

However Sagar who was staying with Sachin and also part of the racket managed to escape.

A detailed investigation led the accused to reveal that after graduating his hotel management course from Chennai went to Malaysia as part of his internship and returned to Bengaluru and working in a private hostel and hospitality industry (Oyo).

The accused was addicted to Marijuana and later started peddling for small time to earn money for his drugs.

During the course he met Anand who is also addicted to drugs and the duo decided to buy and pedal on a large scale.CK Baba, DCP Northeast told reporters.

Sachin made contact with the supplier from VIzaq and bought the drugs in a goods van into the city.further inquiries revealed that Sachin had a non fatal accident recently and got an insurance claim.

The money he invested in purchasing drugs from his contact in Vizag with a plan to make it double .

Sachin’s brother,Sagar,a degree student,also involved in the drug peddling racket is presently on the run and efforts are on to track him down, CK Baba, DCP, north east,said .

The police have booked the duo under NDPS act and further investigations are on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner Kamal Pant has appreciated Addl CP East S Murugan DCP Northeast CK Baba,ACP, Devanahalli,PI and other staff who has successfully nabbed the duo and busted the racket and for the commendable job done by PSI,Shivappa M Naikar and team a suitable reward will be given to the whole team he added.
