The South Division police of Kempegowda Nagar police on Wednesday arrested a 28-year-old auto rickshaw driver who along with his cousin murdered his best friend to be with his wife .
The three accused has been identified as,Ranjitha,Sanju MS,and Subramanya from Hassan.
Senior officer,told media persons,a missing complaint was registered by a accused wife of deceased who stated in her complaint that her husband who is auto rickshaw driver by profession has not returned home after going for work.
Kempegowda Nagar police inspector registered a missing complaint of missing meanwhile deceased sister registered a complaint against deceased wife and her friends that they have murdered her brother.
Based on complaint,Inspector,Chethan Kumar ML and team swung into action the Inspector during investigation on suspicion conducted the background check on Ranjitha and verified the call record details of Karthik and Sanju before the latter was picked up.
After verifying the call records and other technical inputs the team picked up Ranjita for questioning A Detailed questioning led her to confess to the murder.
The team grilled her who spilled the beans and based on the confession the police arrested Sanju and his cousin Subramanya and recovered the jack rod used to kill Karthik and recovered his highly decomposed body from the drain on Wednesday.
After arresting all the accused the team grilled all the three who spilled the beans and a detailed investigation was conducted and it has revealed that the accused Sanju MS,native of Mandya was separated from wife and homeless was given shelter by his old friend Karthik,K V 25,resident of Srinagar,and allowed him to stay at his house and also use his autorickshaw to use to eke out a living.
While Sanju was driving the auto day time and return home,Karthik would go for night shift leaving Sanju at home .
However Sanju had an affair with Karthik’s wife Ranjitha for the past three months.Rajintha told Sanju that Karthik is getting a money out of his ancestral property share and they decided to kill Karthik so that they could take the money and live happily ever after .
As per the plan Sanju ganged up with his cousin Subramanya, 20,from Hassan,took Karthik on July 29 on the pretext of party.
They trio went in Autorickshaw near Channapatna and after a couple of drinks Sanju bludgeoned Karthik with a jack rod and crushed his head with a boulder to make sure he is dead.
The duo later stuffed the body in a gunny bag which they have carried and brought the body and buried near a storm water drain near Rajarajeshwari Medical college.
The team also arrested Ranjitha soon after she returned from her parents house where she had gone to visit them and further investigation is on.
