Five held by Madanayakanahalli Police,Private detective including habitual bike lifters arrested,46 Bikes Worth Rs.40 Lakhs Recovered

The Madanayakanahalli police on Saturday busted a group of five where a private detective ganged up with habitual offenders to steal 46 bikes from in and around the city worth Rs.40 lakh from the past two years.

The accused have been identified as,Ravikumar,21,Muniraju,20,Jagadish,21,Mohan Kumar,22 and private detective,Shivashankar,25.

IGP Central Range,M Chandrashekhar,told reporters,following series of bike thefts in and around the city a high value meeting was called and special teams were formed to nab the bike lifters.

A special teams were led by Vamsi Krishna,SP,Rural under the leadership of Addl SP,Lakshmi Ganesh K,DYSP,Jagadish,PI,Manjunath of Madanayakanahalli and his crime staff swung into action.

Following a series of bikes theft,the police started to check the CCTV footage and analyzed over 100 Call record details before identifying the accused.

Over 50 CCTV cameras from in and around the area were analyzed before zeroing in on the accused.

The team zeroed in on Ravikumar and grilled him and during investigation he revealed his associates name based on which the team nabbed other four including a private detective agent.

After arresting all the accused the team interrogated them and the accused confessed the crime and it is revealed that the prime accused Ravi Kumar and Jagadish are habitual offenders involved in a robbery in 2020 and jailed.

The duo came out on bail and started working in a vegetable shop in the outskirts of the city.

Meanwhile the accused Shivashankar who worked at (Venus) detective agency situated on Dickenson road approached Ravi Kumar through a common friend with a business preposition.

Shivashankar asked Ravi Kumar to get him different bikes without number plates for his detective work (shadowing) and offered to give him a decent amount for each bike .

Ravi Kumar who had planned to purchase an ambulance to run the business readily agreed thinking that he could arrange the money soon, readily agreed.

As per the deal Shivashankar also used to send the photos of the bike parked in front of the house or office,which he wanted for the work and message it to Ravi Kumar along with the location of the bikes.

Ravikumar ganged up with Jagadisha,Muniraju and Mohan Kumar would steal the bikes and hand it over to the shivshankar.

The accused used the bikes sometimes without number plates for his work and later handed them over to the accused who in turn sold them to different customers for throwaway price.

The accused would also sell the bikes to people through Mohan Kumar for throwaway prices luring the customers stating that the bikes are seized from the finance company from the customers who failed to repay the loan.

While the accused would promise to hand over the bike documents later and escape with the money.

Using the modus Operandi the accused have stolen 10 bikes from the outskirts of the city,five bikes from Ramanagar and two bikes from the city.

Meanwhile the police teams led by,SP,Vamsi Krishna,Additional SP,Lakshmi Ganesh and comprised DySPs,T Rangappa and Umashankar MH along with inspectors Manjunath SR, Kempegowda,Rangaswamy HM,Gowtham, Srinivas, Raghavendra and Harish with totally 41 cops.

They connected the dots by viewing around 1,500 hours of video footage sourced from nearly 500 CCTV cameras installed in areas where the duo struck.After 22 days of probe, Hoskote police inspector SR Manjunath and his team nabbed the two chain-snatchers on July 21,

The arrested are Arjun Kumar alias Arjun Singh, 33, and Rakesh alias Raki, both residents of Ludhiana in Punjab and from of Shamli district in Uttar Pradesh. With their arrest, cops have solved 11 cases registered in Avalahalli,AG Halli,Whitefield,Suryanagar,Hebbagodi,Hosakote, Sulibele, Sarjapur and Channarayapatna areas.

The team recovered 465 grams of gold worth around 22 lakh from them.

Finally,DG-IGP,Praveen Sood,has appreciated,Inspector General of Police,central range,M.Chandrashekhar,and his team as,SP,Rural,Vamsi Krishna,Addl SP,Lakshmi Ganesh K, DYSPs,as,Jagadish,T Rangappa and Umashankar MH along with inspectors,as,Manjunath SR,Kempegowda,Rangaswamy HM,Gowtham,Srinivas,Raghavendra,Harish,BS Manjunath and his crime staff for the good piece of investigation,and announced a reward to the team he added.
