NIA files chargesheet against 2 Lashkar operatives in conspiracy case :

The NIA filed a supplementary chargesheet before a special court here on Monday against two terrorists of Pakistan-based terror group LeT for their alleged involvement in a conspiracy to commit subversive activities and wage a war against India,besides killing key personalities of the Hindu community in the country,an official release said.

The chargesheet was filed against Dr Sabeel Ahmed of Bengaluru and Asadulla Khan of Hyderabad under sections of the India Penal Code,(IPC)and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention)Act(UAPA).

The case was initially registered as in Basaveshwaranagar Nagar Police station, Bengaluru pertains to conspiracy hatched by members of the proscribed terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba (L-e-T) and Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HuJI) to commit subversive activities and wage war against Government of India.

The NIA chargesheet stated that the accused had procured illegal arms and ammunition for targeted killings of important personalities of Hindu community in Bengaluru and Hubali in Karnataka,Nanded in Maharashtra and in Hyderabad,Telangana to disturb the communal harmony and strike terror in society.

NIA had earlier chargesheeted 17 accused persons in this case after completion of investigation.

Further investigation has established that accused persons Dr.Sabeel Ahmed and Asadulla Khan are members of proscribed terrorist organisation LeT.

They were involved in criminal conspiracy along with other accused persons in supporting and furthering the cause of LeT in Damam and Riyadh,Saudi Arabia.

They had actively participated in conspiracy meetings in which terrorist activities like targeted killings of important personalities of Hindu community in Bengaluru and Hubali in Karnataka and Nanded in Maharashtra were planned.

Thec NIA Special Court,Bengaluru had earlier convicted thirteen accused persons in September 2016 with five years imprisonment and with fine.

Trial is continuing against earlier charge-sheeted three accused persons.
