Two mobile snatchers held by Upparpet police,80 mobile phones recovered:

The West Division police of upparpet police have arrested two persons and recovered 80 mobile phones from them.

The accused has been identified as,Ashok Kumar and Anjaneyalu,

Senior officer, told media persons that a complaint was registered by a victim in upparpet police station stating that as on 14th January when he was going to his work to catch bus near BMTC depot.

Two miscreants came on bike and confronted him and robbed his mobile at knife point.

Based on the complaint,Upparpet police inspector Shivaswamy CB, formed a special team to nab the mobile snatchers.

The police team visited the spot and analyzed CCTV footages in the vicinity and based on technical inputs our team arrested the accused.

During interrogation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that they used to move around the city on their scooter to identify people walking alone and rob them at knife point.

The accused spilled the beans that as on January 14,confronted a private firm employee near BMTC depot and robbed his mobile at knife point.

Based on the statement the police team recovered 80 costly mobile phones from the accused along with Rs.10,000 cash,Dio scooter and knife used to commit crime has been recovered from them.

The police are now identifying the victims who have lost mobile phones and further investigation is on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,has appreciated, Addl CP West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP West,Dr Sanjeev M Patil,ACP,P Ravi,PI,Shivaswamy CB and his crime team who has successfully nabbed the notorious mobile snatchers and recovered 80 costly mobile phones from them a suitable reward will be given to the team he added.
