Kannada actor and producer Radhika Kumaraswamy was grilled for nearly four hours by sleuths from the Central Crime Branch (CCB) on Friday, in connection with her financial transactions with Yuvaraj Swamy, 52, a conman arrested in December 2020.
She appeared for interrogation at CCB headquarters in the city,Radhika told media persons that she had cooperated with the cops and answered all questions they had to the best of her knowledge.
CCB had recently questioned Radhika’s brother Raviraj after it emerged he was constantly in touch with the accused Yuvaraj Swamy, who claimed to be an astrologer and a right wing leader close to BJP high command to dupe several people to the tune of several crores.
He was questioned on financial transactions between Yuvaraj Swamy and his sister Radhika. Following this, Radhika had held a press conference on Tuesday and accepted that she had known Yuvaraj Swamy for many years now and consulted him on astrological issues.
She claimed Mr.Swamy had paid her an advance of Rs.15 lakh to act in a period film based on Natyarani Shantala.
Radhika,during her interrogation on Friday,is learnt to have claimed that she received Rs.15 lakh as advance for a film that Mr.Swamy was producing,but couldn’t produce any documents to validate the claim.
Cops are also probing another financial transaction to the tune of Rs.60 lakh,that is not directly attributed to Mr. Swamy,but is suspected to be linked to him.Meanwhile, CCB officials also questioned Radhika on the veracity of a leaked audio clip of a purported conversation between her and Mr. Swamy.She is learnt to have denied any such conversation,sources said.
Sources says Radhika Kumaraswamy dint agree for face to face questioning with the accused Yuvaraj swamy.
It is alleged that Yuvaraj swamy during interrogation has said that he has transferred more than 2 Crore rupees for business purpose to Radhika Kumarswamy!.
Joint Commissioner (Crime) Sandeep Patil said further investigation into the case would be carried out based on certain information revealed by Ms.Radhika he added.
