Major Wildlife Haul unearthed by CK Achukkattu police, arrested four Poachers,400 leopard and 6 tiger nails seized in Bengaluru:

A major Wildlife Haul was unearthed by the Bengaluru south division police of Chennammanakere Achukattu police busted one of the illegal wildlife trade racket and arrested four persons who were carrying funny bags containing over 400 leopard nails among other articles.

The accused has been identified as Karthik,40, Prashanth,28,Pramila,40,and Sai kumar,22 are arrested while waiting for their clients to handover the articles .

The police recovered 400 leopard nails,6 tiger nails,1 black buck skin,1 jackel skin with head and 7 pangolins nails.

The police also seized two jungle cat paws and three sloth bear claws,and have arrested four poachers.They now plan to go after the buyers also.

Senior officer, told media persons,the accused are part of the hakki pikki tribe living in pakshirajpura,near Hunsur Nagarhole tiger reserve.

The accused suspected to have illegal network of hunting wild animals and taking out the parts to sell it in the black market.

The accused suspected to have international connections to sell their articles,which is being part of the investigation he added.

DCP South,Harish Pandey,said,recently we have arrested one accused with deer horns and during the course of investigation the said accused revealed that more such items will be coming to Bengaluru in October and November.

Based on his statement our team kept a close watch on the information,a team led by ACP,VV Puram Sub-division,BL,Srinivasmurthy,under the supervision of CK Achukkattu police inspector,Puttaswamy HP and his crime team swung into action.

The team who were on operation got a credible information that some three to four people are waiting near Prem Jewellers near 43A bus stop in kathriguppe main road carrying a school bag with them and it is suspect they are carrying animal skin to sell to their clients.

Based on information inspector and his crime staff rushed to spot,and apprehended all the four and after checking their bags the team found leopard nails and tiger nails,in their possession.

The inspector and his crime staff arrested all the four and took them to station for questioning during the course of investigation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that they would sell the nails to the jewellers to make dollars out of it with gold to sell it for higher prices.

Harish Pandey, even said that the accused have sourced wild life articles from many region. There is a bigger network suspected and investigation is on to identify others involved and also about their poaching and smuggling network he added.

A case has been registered in this regard at CK Achukkattu police station under wildlife Act against the accused and further investigation is on.

Finally Bengaluru Police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,has appreciated,Addl CP,West,Soumendhu Mukherjee,DCP,South,Harish Pandey,ACP,VV Puram,Sub-division,BL Srinivasmurthy,PI,CK Achukkattu,Puttaswamy HP,PSI,Manoj Kumar,and whole crime staff for busting the major wildlife haul and a suitable reward will be given to the team for the commendable job done by them he added.
