The southeast Division police of Mico layout police have busted inter state fake currency racket and arrested three persons,who were trying to smuggle fake currency into the city,and recovered Rs.7.78 Lakhs from their possession.
The accused have been identified as Suman S, 36,Devarajan Y,31,and Munishekhar, 29 from Thiruvalluvar in Tamil Nadu.
S Murugan, Additional CP East, told reporters,The racket was busted when the police who are on special drive to check masks stopped the car coming from Tamil Nadu for inquiry.
The police notices the trio were behaving suspiciously and on suspect basis they intercepted the car and noticed three bundles the cops opened the bundles and found currency notes from the dash board.
For further inquiry the cops took them to police station.The police checked the car and found 389 fake currency notes of 2,000 denominations worth Rs.7.78 lakh rupees along with few more bundles of plain sheets cut into the size of currency notes of Rs, 2,000 and Rs 500 and a colour printer which was used to print fake currency notes.
During interrogation the accused confessed the crime and revealed that they had come to city planning to stay in a hotel and circulate fake currency in the city during festive seasons.
The trio have been booked and remanded to judicial custody while the police are investigating further to ascertain possible involvement of other people and further investigation is on he added.
Finally Bengaluru police Commissioner,Kamal Pant,has appreciated,Additional CP East,S Murugan,DCP, Southeast,Srinath Mahadev Joshi,ACP,Mico-layout Sub-division,Sudheer M,PI, Ghorpade Yellappa,and crime staff as, Probationary PSI,Rajkumar J,and HC,Pramod, who has done a commendable job in nabbing the trio and busting the fake currency racket and a suitable reward and appreciation letter will be given to the team he added.
