Tension prevailed on Airport road for sometime when hundreds of The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Narayana Gowda faction) on Wednesday staged a rally from Sadahalli gate in Devanahalli demanding use of kannada language in sign boards in all the commercial establishments.

The protest went violent as members damaged the bill boards,and banners written in english creating a fear psychosis.Some members climbed up the high rise bill boards to paint black ink endangering their lives.

The police have to struggle hard to contain the crowd. The police later detained Narayana Gowda for leading the rally without permission,following which the KRV members blocked the police vehicle and tried to deflate .

Heated arguments ensued between the police and protesters as the former objected them for blocking the roads by organising rally without permission and vandalizing the shops and commercial establishments along the way which have non kannada sign boards.

Earlier Narayana gowda warned the businessmen to use Kannada language compulsory failing which he warned them to face the consequences.

Kannada in Karnataka is must,We are not preventing them to do business,but they should give respect to the language in the land of Karnataka,Mr.Gowda Warned ,They might have got the police protection now, referring to the Asian Mall and Phoenix mall, but remeber police will not be there at all the time.

Our members are keeping a watch, this is a warning to them to mend their way and respect kannada or else pack your back and returned to your respective states, he said.

Additional police platoons have been deployed to monitor the law and order situation.Hundreds of protestors have been detained so far and necessary security has been provided to the commercial establishments, a police officer, supervising the protest ,said.

Meanwhile Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddarammaiah said kannada is must in Karnataka and everybody should follow it but taking law in to their hand in the name of protest and vandalising private property those who are involved in vandalism will be dealt with stringent action he told reporters.

over 1000 people taken under preventive custody including Karnataka Rakshana Vedike President,Narayan Gowda,for creating ruckus and vandalising private property ⁠5 FIRs registered and over 20 people arrested for vandalism and after analysing videos more persons will be arrested who are seen vandalising private properties and creating fear among public.

An FIR has been registered against 15 Pro Kannada members in connection with the vandalising private property and damaging English boards on Lavelle Road.

In connection with this case,the Cubbon Park police have arrested 20 activist later Karave activists staged a protest in front of the Cubbon Park police station after their arrest.

The police have registered a case under IPC 504, 506, 143, 147, 427 rw 41, PDLP Act 2a against 20 Karave activists who were involved in vandalising private property and damaging sign boards and further investigation is on said a senior officer.
